Nobody (Rehearsal 11/28/18)

We have another video out, this time of us practicing "Nobody" for future shows. Nobody is one of our Waking Dream song favorites and seems to be highly favored among SoundCloud musicians and music lovers who know our music.

The video above was the 7th and final take for the evening rehearsal. It turned into quite the extended version of Nobody and into a jam we could both stand to post. .

In even better news, we just so happened to record a second video with a different camera. The sound quality is not as good during this take (Take 1) of the same rehearsal.  In this video (which is also the shorter version) you get to see closeup how Lyra plays "Nobody." I'm not going to spoil it for you but feel free to take a look at both videos  to see how we would play out at venues (it's on the to-do list) and to see how Waking Dream improvises and jams to this particular track.

Nueve Ángeles De La Muerte the project came about as an idea after K-Effect aka David Martin of Spain spoke to Lyra Daydream & Liz Lund during the summer of 2018. The two projects came together with an idea for something Waking Dream had never done before, which is to create a dark disco track (yes, a dance track.)

It was then that Martin sent Lyra and Liz a mastered track and the pair thought to themselves that perhaps this would be the perfect opportunity to create something fall worthy! And so it was! The pair worked steadily to create a vocal ambience worth talking about. The new vocal tracks have been sent away to Martin (K-Effect) as of today, and we will see the official version come to fruition shortly this November. This track will also be featured on Waking Dream's new upcoming album.

    "The Meadow" is a new demo track with medieval aesthetic, recorded tonight and immediately     posted on SoundCloud after.

It's not perfect, but it's worth the listen. We're proud of what we've created and when the official version is released, it'll be even better. When the official version is released it'll be included on the EP, "Pitchforks are for Pilgrims."

Also coming soon, the track "Nine Death Angels," (a collaboration with the artist K-Effect.

New Wordpress Webpage & the SoundCloud Community of Doom

So, we should probably mention that a Wordpress webpage is now in development. So far, it is just that: a development. However, it officially contains our videos, links to our tracks and well written web content.

Definitely sounds better with headphones ladies and gentlemen. But after to listening to the track with and without headphones, I liked it the second time. Dear Diary -By Disco Moon Girl

Dear Diary,

Oh, how lovely it is. Sunshine and fresh air. The flowers and the trees. The bushes and the wind. And that darling tornado over yonder headed my way. Ravishing! Simply stupendous! Oh look at the low hanging clouds and that beautiful green sky. So powerful! So threatening!  I could watch it spin all day. 

Oh dear, what was that? There seems to be the sound of a train in the distance. Where's Dorothy when you need her? 

Oh crap! And my house now seems to have a large hole in it, but it is a ravishing hole just the same. Simply lovely. Okay, well, gotta go and call that home owner's insurance. 

Oh shit. It appears that I only have one arm. Well, perhaps I can use my other arm to dial 911, instead of writing in this damned diary. Anyways, talk to you soon, if I don't bleed out first. If I do not bleed out, I will invest in a new robot arm to go with my smiling moon face.

Once upon a time two friends named Lyra & Liz went into the woods together. They were there to see the sites of the wild and the exquisite rain forest, in which long ago they had heard so much about from fellow passersby. There they saw a strange tree in the distance. Twisted, misshapen, beautiful. It beckoned them to come closer.

It’s echoes were low and unheard aloud except within the inside of their skulls. Somehow it knew what they were thinking. It knew that they could only spectate and witness such a powerful and beautiful creation of nature. "Liz and Lyra," it said, “do you hear me?”

 Lyra and Liz looked at one another. “Did you hear that?” asked Lyra. Liz nodded in her silence. And once again the tree spoke. “Come closer…You may touch the bark, my roots,and my leaves. And you can be the first and only humans to ever enter the house of the dead.”

"What a lovely specimen of tree indeed" exclaimed Liz. “How it talks to us and asks us to enter its house.”

“But did it say 'dead' or was I imagining that?,” asked Lyra.

“No that is what you heard. I heard it say so. The house of the dead,” said Liz.

They both looked at each other and then back at the tree, awaiting its next words. Nothing came. They continued to do as most travelers do. Take lots of pictures, worship the tree and all of nature, sing "We are 138" by the Misfits at the top of their lungs, and say silly things such as "this feels like it would be in a film about 'Nam for some reason."

Then all of sudden, there was a blood curdling growl. And it lit up all within sight.  The two girls saw a bright light in the distance. Their eyes began to grow wide with fear. The monstrous noise was coming from inside the tree...................

This was the last known footage of them taken on July 1st. At this time, this is all the information we have of their whereabouts, but rest assured. We will not be lazy. Well, maybe we'll be lazy. It's on our list of things to do, but take a look for yourself. We do know that it began to rain....

This video is not intended to offend nor be insensitive to the subject of suicide, nor is it based on anyone in particular. It is simply a snapshot of the possible perceptions of someone who does have these tendencies. Mental illness in general should not be a hush, hush topic, as it is more common than one would believe and thus, suicidal tendencies are as well.
